Destination Choices of Michigan Micropolitan Outmigrants: Key Determinants and Implications for Community Marketing

摘要: As its economy struggled during the last decade, Michigan became only state to lose population between 2000 and 2010 Censuses. Michigan's problems were well known communities in other states sought attract residents from Michigan. This paper describes efforts of one Nebraska community, Columbus, recruit a specific Michi- gan micropolitan area. We also develop model destination choice by outmigrants areas. find that counties offer amenity real wage ad- vantages have greatest potential outmigrants, differences un- employment rates do not influence choice, for attracting workers drops with distance.
