摘要: Oblique rifting arises when the bulk extension direction is not perpendicular to boundaries of a deforming zone. Several scale experiments oblique acting on brittle-ductile system are here presented. Models two-layer slabs sand and silicone. Uniaxial stretching applied external (α = 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°). Resulting fault patterns analysed both free surface serial cross-sections. In characterized by en-echelon patterns, mean trends vector, initial dips higher than for dip-slip normal faults. For low obliquity ⩾ 45°) curved faults frequent, displacement along them varying from dominantly strike-slip. high < motion partitioned amongst distinct families oblique-slip strike-slip
