摘要: In this chapter we review the development of control chaos theory subsequent to seminal paper by Ott, Grebogi and Yorke in 1990. After summarizing main characteristics OGY method, analyze discuss various applications several fields mechanics. We then illustrate aspects an alternative method which aims at controlling overall system dynamics instead stabilizing a single periodic orbit, as does. The two methods are both based on modern idea exploiting chaotic properties systems, simply eliminating chaos. This is one collection written honour Celso Grebogi, occasion his 60th birthday. So have thought it appropriate start with short personal reminiscences present authors.
