摘要: Central and local governments often employ sophisticated modelling appraisal procedures to ensure that the transport strategies schemes are selected for implementation meet policy objectives economically efficient. But relatively little effort has been made by profession develop methods assist with generation of appropriate innovative options which form core inputs this whole process. The paper first summarises UK authority views about importance option their current ability suitable options. It then provides an overview have used in a variety disciplines areas generate Some mainly represent or package existing knowledge, while others encourage ‘outside-the-box’ thinking, aim developing solutions not previously thought of. Methods range from those highly quantitative replicable, qualitative much more subjective nature. Four tools developed as part DISTILLATE project described illustrated case study examples. Two apply at strategic level; one is designed selecting packages measures contribute urban transport/land use strategy, other assists identifying accessibility problems experienced different population groups, generating potential solutions. two scheme level participatory nature; they deal streetspace allocation improvement community spaces.
