摘要: Intersex in gonochoristic fish can be induced after exposure to androgens and estrogens. The main objective of the present study was identify biomarkers that would predictive intersex Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) synthetic hormones. First a gene identified, ovarian structure protein 1 (osp1), with strong female-specific expression during gonadal differentiation. authors hypothesized osp1 decrease male levels females larvae (15–25 d postfertilization [dpf]) 17β-trenbolone (TRB; 5 ng/L) increase female males exposed 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2; later life (60 dpf). Tissue distribution cellular localization OSP1 investigated using Western blot immunohistochemistry. results indicate this regime delays testicular maturation development females. Although decreased TRB correlated changes phenotype, up-regulation not observed EE2. In addition, only ovaries localized cytoplasm follicular layer immature mature oocytes. conclude is promising biomarker androgen medaka. Environ Toxicol Chem 2015;34:2087–2094. © 2015 SETAC
