摘要: Immunopathologic findings in efferent ducts of 36 rhesus macaques vasectomized as many 12 years earlier and 11 age-matched control animals were compared. Electron-microscopic observation these revealed changes after vasectomy. The epithelium shortened from a prevasectomy height 25 mu to 14 the stretched number sperm macrophages lumen increased. basement membrane was 300-700 A wide nonvasectomized but several times that 6 or more before; mean width significantly increased with time Numerous electron-dense immune complexes found within thickened lamina 33% none controls. size areas varied 0.01 sq monkey 3 0.18 an animal 7 earlier; area Frozen sections testis epididymis evaluated through use fluorescein-conjugated antibodies. Of controls, 18% showed deposits. animals, 53% C3 deposition surrounding ducts. presence deposits plus finding putative by immunofluorescence suggested vasectomy enhances leakage antigens, particularly region duct.
