Summary Objective Screening blood donations for anti-HCV is only partially performed in many developing countries due to the relatively high costs of testing. The screening expenditures can be reduced by testing pools. This study evaluates accuracy and feasibility pooled procedure banks Israel Palestinian Authority. Methods sensitivity specificity tests on pool sizes 6–24 samples were compared singleton immunoassay All negative those positive obtained from routine work Magen David Adom Blood Services Shifa Hospital bank Authority. experiments run parallel with different technologies. Results  pooled-testing was 94–97% verified samples. In Hospital, estimated as 96–97% non-verified Cost-analysis showed benefits up $2 per donation screened Hospital. Conclusions  We recommend using manually created pools 6 when anti-HCV, but at cost 3% loss sensitivity. Pooling considered, which do not perform screening, their limited economic resources. Resultats  test etait verifies. Dans Shifa, estimee non L'analyse revele avantages allant jusqu’a 2 dollars US don examine Shifa.
