摘要: Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) is very closely related to high performance liquid (HPLC), using almost the same hardware and software. However, SFC 3–5 times faster, with pressure drops 1/5th 1/3 those found in HPLC. Differences stem from fact that mobile phase a highly compressed, but still compressible, gas-like fluid, usually mostly carbon dioxide (CO 2 ). HPLC pumps have low compression ratios unsuited pumping such fluids. chilling pump liquefying makes delivery possible. The fluids remain as much 27 compressible water. Both adiabatic isothermal compressibility discussed. Broken loop autosamplers are inappropriate. Stirred air ovens should be avoided. Thermal gradients column not major problem. concept of peak fidelity used evaluate current instrument designs for use sub-2 μm particles. Back regulator issues briefly
