摘要: Abstract : Ecological models are important tools for planning ecosystem restoration and management activities. Models help to organize our thinking, conceptualize understanding of complex systems, forecast environmental benefits that may result from proposed actions. This report provides information guide planers in selection, development, evaluation documentation ecological models. A number critical issues addressed, including specifying objectives formulating a sound conceptual model, choosing among types models, deciding when develop new systematically evaluating the quantitative addressing parameter model uncertainty, developing sections through iteration, analyzing alternatives documenting results. Quantitative modeling is shown be dynamic process best served using an iterative approach. In practice, individual parts quantified evaluated stepwise fashion until entire captured quantitatively. approach creates transparency which can remove black-box stigma has been associated with use sciences.
