摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the measurement and improvement of program behavior under paging systems. It defines parameters importance that govern performance a system as well measurements needed to monitor programs. also tool implemented make these available, namely, Washington Interpretive Paging System (WIPS). WIPS is divided into three main modules: CPU, memory manager, CAL Interpreter. A possible option in use recording on tape all references type operation, instruction or data fetch, which caused reference. The further presents results experiments different versions users' programs way simple changes can yield interesting improvements its while running system.
