摘要: Purpose: Renal cancer response to interleukin 2 (IL-2) therapy and patient survival has been correlated with tumor histology carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) expression. In an effort confirm expand these observations, we examined CAIX expression in pathology specimens from renal patients who had previously received IL-2 therapy. Experimental Design: Paraffin-embedded tissue sections of were immunostained the MN-75 monoclonal antibody levels histologic findings clinical outcome. Results: Tissue obtained 66 patients; 27 whom (41%) responded IL-2–based Fifty-eight assessed as clear cell, 56, 33, 4 having alveolar, granular, papillary features, respectively. Twenty-four (36%), 31 (47%), 11 (17%) classified into good, intermediate, poor prognosis groups according Upton model. Forty-one (62%) high Twenty-one (78%) responding expressing tumors compared 20 39 (51%) nonresponders (odds ratio, 3.3; P = 0.04). Median was prolonged ( 0.04) >5 years only seen expressers. intermediate pathologic prognosis, all nine responders versus 22 nonresponders. A resultant group good alone or contained 26 (96%) 18 (46%) 30; Conclusions: seems be important predictor outcome cell carcinoma receiving may enhance prognostic information specimens.
