摘要: Platelet membrane glycoprotein (GP) IV (also called CD36 and GPIIb) deficiency is associated with N(aka)-negative platelets. Using flow-cytometric analysis of cells stained the monoclonal anti-GPIV antibody OKM5, we have studied expression GPIV on monocytes from 16 healthy Japanese individuals whose platelets were deficient in GPIV. was absent surface 2 platelet GPIV-negative donors (type I), whereas it present remaining 14 II). The fluorescent intensity OKM5-stained type II significantly (P < .05) lower than that normal derived GPIV-positive donors, suggesting also abnormally regulated as compared monocytes. OKM5 induced an oxidative burst well monocytes, but failed to induce I Because been exhibited no immunologic problems, appears be not essential for physiologic functions An detected serum one GPIV-deficient women, who had never received any blood transfusions given birth three apparently children. These results suggest may at risk developing isoantibody upon transfusion or pregnancy.
