摘要: Approximately 17 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused by land-use change and, in particular, the destruction tropical forests. Reducing and forest degradation has been shown as a cost-effective way slowing carbon compared to other mitigation strategies such curbing from power stations. Decisions taken at UN Conference Parties Bali, 2007 opened possibility for reducing deforestation (REDD) payments become part post-Kyoto framework agreement, short-term pilot projects.
