摘要: With great interest, we read the work by Liu et al. (1), which described development of an alkyne analog puromycin for labeling and imaging newly synthesized peptides. Available techniques this type measurement are very limited, (1) claimed that alternative method, is based on antipuromycin immunohistochemistry (SUnSET) (2), results in a subcellular localization nascent peptides not consistent with expected location proteins [e.g., “antipuromycin staining shows strongest signal at plasma membrane” (1)]. For following reasons, have serious concerns potentially misleading claim. First, claim largely studies azidohomoalanine (Aha)/homopropargylglycine (Hpg) analogs methionine were used to identify proteins. However, there currently … [↵][1]1To whom correspondence should be addressed. E-mail: pierre{at}ciml.univ-mrs.fr. [1]: #xref-corresp-1-1
