摘要: Nanoscopic metal contact in the context used this paper means atomic force microscope (AFM) tips with cleaned, flat, smooth surfaces ultrahigh vacuum. Such idealised conditions are of more and relevance for technical friction systems despite fact that latter loads velocities usually higher, materials impure (e. g. alloys) contaminants or lubricants present between sliding surfaces. Sliding contacts micro-system technology, which is unequivocally a key technology future, will presumably be compared such conditions. Another important reason investigation nanoscopic strong interest understanding elementary processes mechanisms causing friction. The reduced number influencing parameters offers chance to gain insight into compare results theoretical models based on physical principles, as molecular dynamics simulation.
