The design of metadata for the Digital Museum Initiative in Taiwan

摘要: Metadata plays a crucial role in digital library/museum environment. However, the development of metadata is not an easy task. Its formulation starts with analysing attributes collections as well understanding user information needs and seeking behaviour. The issue interoperability also to be considered terms both semantics syntax. This paper discusses issues related Taiwan. It describes process Chinese system, Interchange for Information (MICI), XML/metadata management Metalogy. Both were developed under Digital Museum Initiative sponsored by National Science Council
