摘要: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy synthetic colloid hetastarch in dogs with hypoalbuminemia. Individual doses ranged from 9 27 mL/kg, multiple were used frequently. Total 59 mL/kg. Colloid oncotic pressure measured 13 before after treatment. Mean +/- SD 9.32 2.35 mm Hg treatment 16.41 1.61 8 healthy pet as controls. difference these values significant (P < .001). There a increase mean first dose hetastarch, but there no relationship between magnitude pressure. Peripheral edema or body cavity transudates resolved decreased 83% despite concurrent use crystalloid fluid therapy. also resolution edema. Worsening results coagulograms occurred 5 18 dogs, included increased prothrombin time (n = 1), partial thromboplastin 5), platelet count 3). Bleeding that 3 could not be directly attributed hetastarch. worsening coagulograms.
