摘要: Outbreaks of shellfish-transmitted viral disease occur periodically, but frequently the causative agent is not identified. In November 1993, during investigation a multistate outbreak acute gastroenteritis, incriminated lots oysters were collected. Oyster tissues (stomachs and digestive diverticula) processed for virus extraction nucleic acid purification. Human calicivirus sequences sought by reverse transcriptase PCR using different primer sets. Amplicons obtained from 9 10 shellfish samples four when primers specific strain used. The specificity amplification was confirmed hybridization. amplicons nine positive cloned sequenced. sequence each clones identical to others showed some variation (7 81 bp) stools three persons made III outbreak.
