摘要: Red Lists are very valuable tools in nature conservation at global, continental and (sub-) national scales. In an attempt to prioritise actions for European butterflies, we compiled a database with species lists of all countries, including the Macaronesian archipelagos (Azores, Madeira Canary Islands). total, 42 countries 34 these. The most species-rich Europe Italy, Russia France more than 250 each. Endemic mainly found on Mediterranean islands. By attributing numerical values proportionate threat statuses different List categories, calculated mean value every country (cRLV) weighted (wsRLV) using square root country’s area as weighting factor. Countries highest cRLV were industrialised (NW) such Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic Denmark, whereas large Spain Italy had lowest cRLV. Species which assessment was available least two relatively high wsRLV (≥ 50) Colias myrmidone, Pseudochazara orestes, Tomares nogelii, chrysotheme Coenonympha oedippus. We compared these wsRLVs identify possible mismatches. discuss how this complementary method can help butterfly and/or (sub-)national scale.
