Comparison of measured vs. predicted performance of jointed plain concrete pavements using the Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guideline

摘要: This research evaluates the ability of Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) to accurately predict performance jointed plain concrete pavements (JPCPs). is accomplished by comparing predicted performances with observed for in-service mainline test cells at Mn/ROAD. These comparisons indicate that MEPDG predictions JPCP are most accurate when default (constant) built-in equivalent temperature difference − 5.5°C used instead a site-dependent value. It appears significant portions error estimation can be explained sensitivity models variability in hardened properties (modulus rupture, modulus elasticity and coefficient thermal expansion) pavement structural features (slab thickness, joint spacing, subbase type bond condition).
