Glycomics: a pathway to a class of new and improved therapeutics

摘要: Complex glycans that are located at the surface of cells, deposited in extracellular matrix and attached to soluble signalling molecules have a crucial role phenotypic expression cellular genotypes. However, owing their structural complexity some redundancy terms structures elicit function, therapeutic potential complex has not been well exploited, with few notable exceptions. This review outlines recent advances promise increase our ability use as therapeutics. Opportunities for development further structure-function relationships these also discussed.
