摘要: Seasonal changes in several components of the energy budgets captive harbour seals (Phoca vitulina concolor) were studied to further understand previously documented cycles conservation and utilization. Body mass adult varied by 16-30% (15-32 kg) throughout year, resulting net production ±200 MJ/week. Circannual variation gross intake (GE) resulted a range 30-300 Combined, concurrent GE body available (EA) 50-350 Resting metabolic rate (RMR) displayed significant seasonal (45-129 MJ/week), accounted for 10-90% EA year. Changes RMR may serve as either an adaptation or response varying levels turnover. Mass-specific metabolism exhibited stronger statistical relationship than did RMR. Locomotor activity was significantly related all male seals, but not female. The strength mature males derived largely from high during breeding season. However, increases locomotor could account observed EA.
