摘要: Objectives: To study the relationships between motor type, topographical distribution and gross function in a large, population-based cohort of children with cerebral palsy (CP), from State Victoria, compare this to similar cohorts other countries. Methods: An inception was generated Victorian Cerebral Palsy Register (VCPR) for birth years 1990– 1992. Demographic information, types were obtained register supplemented by grading according Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). Results: Complete data on 323 (86%) 374 cohort. varied GMFCS level I (35%) V (18%) contemporaneous Swedish There fairly even across distributions hemiplegia (35%), diplegia (28%) quadriplegia (37%) large majority young people having spastic type (86%). Conclusions: TheVCPRisidealforpopulation-basedstudiesofgrossmotorfunctioninchildrenwithCP.Grossmotorfunction is populations CP developed countries but comparison difficult because lack consensus classification systems. Use provides valid reproducible method clinicians describe using universal language.
