Comparison of p53 expression in dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and dermatofibroma: Lack of correlation with proliferation rate

摘要: p53 protein plays an important role in control of cell proliferation by suppressing cells with DNA damage. Mutations the gene increase stability encoded nonfunctional which accumulates nuclei, allowing it to be detectable immunohistochemistry. Mutant has been observed preneoplastic and neoplastic conditions supporting its development some human cancers. In this immunohistochemical study, we examined expression 12 Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans (DFSP) 10 Dermatofibromas (DF). Results were compared cellular rate using monoclonal antibody Mib-1 detects Ki-67 antigen expression. Nuclear accumulation was 11 DFSP. All DF negative for p53. No statistical correlation could established between staining our cases. We conclude that mutations may involved molecular pathogenesis DFSP but not DF. index can successfully used distinguish from
