Demographic and psychological predictors of grade point average (GPA) in North-Norway: a particular analysis of cognitive/school-related and literacy problems

摘要: Approximately 30% of students drop out from Norwegian upper secondary schools. Academic achievement, as indexed by grade point average (GPA), is one the strongest predictors dropout. The present study aimed to examine role cognitive, school-related and affective/psychological GPA. In addition, we examined psychometric properties a new scale for literacy problems (LP), well its Analyses showed that had favourable properties. Multivariable regression analyses track choice, task solving skills, gender, lack educational plans LP predicted GPA in descending order. major implication was related multiple number demographic, cognitive psychosocial factors, any interventions addressing will be less effective if not addition cognitive/school-related factors.
