摘要: Despite the value of kidney transplantation for patients with renal failure, is sometimes accompanied by untoward consequences and considerable resource utilization. The identification modifiable factors contributing to utilization is, therefore, important. This exploratory study transplant had two purposes: (a) describe health-promoting behaviors health-related quality life (HRQOL) pretransplant hospital posttransplant (b) investigate relationships between these other variables. Subjects were 44 who (before transplantation) completed Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP) quantify behavior Medical Outcome Study Short Form (SF)-36 measure HRQOL. Hospital was characterized using length stay charges emergency department visits, readmissions, charges. HPLP scores subjects similar those reported middle-aged adults diseases. SF-36 subscale summary lower than general population. varied widely. Significant correlations found 52.9% scores. However, no score correlated significantly any measure. Of measures, only vitality most measures (greater associated less utilization). While many aspects HRQOL are related before transplant, neither HPLP, SF-36, nor measured variable strongly consistently predicted
