摘要: Abstract Reverse osmosis data on two different cellulose acetate membranes using seven organic solutes of varying molecular weight have been obtained. A combined viscous-flow and frictional model is presented used to estimate the maximum retention, friction between solute membrane, distribution coefficient for pore radius. The calculated values retention compared with Ferry-Faxen equation. For more open membrane these are in good agreement. tighter one, however, shows a greater interaction than predicted by Faxen Some two-solute systems shown give variation which can be explained from convection term.
