Sexual Cognitive Predictors of Sexual Communication in Junior College Adolescents: Medical Student Perspectives

摘要: Background: Further understanding the relationship between sexual cognition and communication in adolescents may facilitate health promotion this population. Purpose: This study was designed to investigate associations cognitive variables adolescents. Methods: used a cross-sectional research design with conventional sampling. Data were collected from one medical college central Taiwan. A total of 900 questionnaires dispatched, 748 copies returned, giving response rate 83.1%. Structural collect demographic data, self-concept inventory, risk cognition, self-efficacy, scale. applied statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation, multiple regression analysis. Results: Major findings revealed that (a) talked about activity issues their parents at moderate level (mean=2.52, SD=1.24), (b) all (sexual self-concept, cognitions, self-efficacy) correlated positively communication, (c) predictors supported by data (having heterosexual friends, satisfaction duration relationships friends) variables, which accounted for 62.0% variance. Conclusions/Implications Practice: Study results can contribute development safe programs improve healthcare provider knowledge among More is encouraged. Moreover, must give increased focus on issue adolescent help encourage discussion regarding issues.
