Optical modulators and beam steering based on electrically tunable plasmonic material

摘要: Surface plasmon based photonic (or plasmonic) circuits merge electronics and photonics at the nanoscale, creating ability to combine superior technical advantages of on same chip. Recent work has demonstrated their remarkable applications in subwavelength optics, data storage transmission, light harvesting generation, microscopy, as well bioapplications. Plasmonics become one most intensive research subjects recent years, much effort been made develop novel efficient waveguiding structures plasmonic materials. We will first review some major progress waveguides Then, focusing a class promising alternative materials, transparent conducting oxides, we introduce our up-to-date study, especially electro-absorption modulators beam steering.
