Social networks, perceptions of risk, and changing attitudes towards HIV/AIDS: new evidence from a longitudinal study using fixed-effects analysis.

摘要: The study presented here is an investigation of the importance social interactions to perceptions risk AIDS, and explores spousal communication about AIDS epidemic in rural Malawi. A fixed-effects analysis based on longitudinal data collected 1998 2001 shows that subject HIV/AIDS have significant substantial effects respondents’ HIV/AIDS, even after controlling for unobserved factors affect selection networks. These are more complex than previously thought. dominant mechanisms—social learning influence—are found vary by sex region, because regional variations marriage pattern resulting implications formation local conclusion rather fostering denial inaction, important vector change face epidemic.
