摘要: Laser nitriding of iron and other metals is governed by the complicated interplay laser–plasma–solid interactions which lead to a superposition several mechanisms. This work reports on drastic influence spatial laser intensity distribution process. The effects lateral nitrogen depth profiles, phase formation, surface topology, microhardness are revealed resonant nuclear reaction analysis, Mossbauer spectroscopy, profilometry, nanoindentation. Homogeneous beams strong reduction or almost absence piston mechanism, thus confining transport processes spot avoiding fallout. details discussed in relation results obtained for raw-beam irradiations.
