摘要: Heart failure is one of the leading causes death in western world and its incidence increasing east. One myocardial infarction which results loss muscle mass through cardiomyocytes. Replacing these by transplanting stem cells or encouraging heart itself to multiply are among ways being investigated prevent developing. The only can form cardiomyocytes though pluripotent cells, until recently available from human embryos. Other types (adult) not able but, if transplanted, may help recover be short term benefit other mechanisms. area using embryonic controversial because ethics, sometimes disputed clinical outcome. Here, a critical overview issues presented.
