摘要: Integrated Algae Pond Systems (IAPS) are a derivation of the Oswald-designed Algal Wastewater (AIWPS®) and combine use anaerobic and aerobic bioprocesses to effect sewage treatment. IAPS technology was introduced South Africa in 1996 pilot plant designed commissioned at Belmont Valley WWTW Grahamstown. The system has been continual since implementation, affords secondarily treated water for reclamation according its design specifications, which most closely resemble those AIWPS Advanced Secondary Process. In this paper as municipal treatment is re-examined relation operation, underpinning biochemistry nutrient removal by algae described, retrospective provided on demonstration WWTW. addition presenting details process flow, several shortcomings and/or oversights highlighted and, particular, need an appropriate tertiary component. However, despite many countries, still viewed with some scepticism. Thus, major purpose overview provide synthesis available information appraisal Keywords : advanced integrated wastewater pond system, systems, wastewater, algae, removal,
