摘要: The invention relates to the operation of an energy-focusing and solid-angle-focusing reflector for time-of-flight mass spectrometers with pulsed ion acceleration into a flight tube, e.g. from source ionization by matrix-assisted laser desorption (MALDI). objective is generate high resolution in wide ranges up masses above eight kilodaltons varying at least one operating voltage on diaphragms which can be varied according suitable time function during spectrum acquisition. It may also advantageous adapt accelerating voltages starting region ions accordingly. These measures make it possible achieve much higher than R=100,000 range extending kilodaltons.
