摘要: A review of the principal contributions radio-therapy brain tumours by beam particles is carried out. Neutrons, protons and light ions are considered along with their pros cons in relation to types locations tumours. particular emphasis given pathologic studies effects directly o n on normal nervous tissue, considering mainly relevant action mechanisms radiation requirements clinical therapeutic strategies. For comparison main features radiotherapy photons described. From it emerges that new modality ions, because peculiar physical characteristics, may represent a way destroying tumour sparing especially when deeply located irregularly shaped concerned. More neuropathological needed order better understand potentiality treatment modalities.
