摘要: The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instruments onboard the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Terra Aqua spacecrafts have several visible near-infrared (NIR) channels with resolutions of 250, 500, 1 km for remote sensing land surfaces atmosphere. MODIS data directly broadcasted to ground receiving stations can many practical applications, including rapid assessment fires burned areas. In this paper, we describe an empirical technique burn scars using a single dataset NIR centered near 1.24 2.13 /spl mu/m. These are sensitive changes in surface properties induced by fire not obscured smoke. Therefore, they allow presence Detection from images, without need previous days, is very useful real-time scar recognition operational direct broadcasting systems. applied acquired over western U.S. during summer season, southeastern part Canada spring seasons, Australia. burnt areas estimated consistent those high spatial resolution Landsat 7 imaging data.
