摘要: Abstract Evidence is presented which strongly indicates a relationship between the presence of Vibrio bacteria, probably alginolyticus , and synthesis tetrodotoxin (TTX)-like chemicals in seven species British nemerteans. The occurrence these substances associated bacteria was investigated by bacteriological, chromatographic, spectroscopic ultraviolet spectrometric techniques. It suggested that toxins are utilised nemerteans as chemical defence against potential predators.
