摘要: Oligodendrocytes are essential for the development, function, and health of vertebrate central nervous system. These cells maintain axon myelination to ensure saltatory propagation action potentials. Oligodendrocyte develops from neural progenitor cells, in a step-wise process that involves oligodendrocyte precursor specification, proliferation, differentiation. The lineage progression requires coordination transcriptional epigenetic circuits mediate stage-specific intricacies development. Epigenetic mechanisms involve DNA methylation, histone modifications, ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling, non-coding RNA modulation regulate state over regulatory genes, which must be expressed or repressed establish identity progression. In this review, we will focus on programming associated with modification enzymes, RNAs progression, discuss how these might harnessed induce myelin repair treatment demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis.
