摘要: In this chapter we will cover the exopolysaccharides (EPS) and plant cell wall-degrading enzymes of phytopathogenic bacteria as a follow up on our previous review (Bahro et al. 1996). Historically, excretion these components by has been discussed an important factor in disease development. It seems quite obvious that vascular pathogen, producing large amounts highly viscous EPS, can block xylem vessels thus cause infected plants to wilt. On other hand, extracellular bacterial attacking wall may lead maceration tissue result soft rot symptoms diseased plants.
