摘要: Aquaporin 3 (AQP3) is an aquaglyceroporin that transports water and glycerol expressed in the epidermis, among other epithelial tissues. We have recently shown there association between this channel phospholipase D2 (PLD2) caveolin-rich membrane microdomains. While PLD2 able to hydrolyze phospholipids generate phosphatidic acid, enzyme also catalyzes, presence of primary alcohols, a transphosphatidylation reaction produce phosphatidylalcohol. proposed AQP3 associated with provides physiological alcohol for use phosphatidylglycerol (PG). Further, we PG functions as signaling molecule mediate early epidermal keratinocyte differentiation, manipulation module inhibits proliferation enhances differentiation. In contrast, investigators suggested proliferative role keratinocytes. addition, knockout mice exhibit phenotype, characterized by dry skin, decreased elasticity delayed barrier repair wound healing, which can be corrected but not humectants. levels been found altered human skin diseases. article evidence supporting epidermis will discussed.
