Sleep quality and depression–anxiety in mothers of children with two chronic respiratory diseases: Asthma and cystic fibrosis

摘要: Abstract Background Sleep quality and psychological well being of parents are expected to be influenced by the child's health disease status. The aim this study was compare sleep depression–anxiety parameters in mothers children with cystic fibrosis (CF) asthma healthy controls. Methods included 62 asthma, 21 CF 35 children. All filled Pittsburgh Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire hospital anxiety depression scale (HADS). Results Comparison three groups Kruskall Wallis analysis demonstrated that subjective sleep, efficiency total PSQI scores were significantly different between ( p =0.02, =0.01 =0.04 respectively). Comparisons pairs Mann Whitney U test Bonferroni correction revealed higher than ones control group (1.0±0.9 vs 0.6±0.7, =0.015). other as when compared but did not reach statistical significance. Anxiety correlated score (rho=0.54 0.49 respectively) (rho=0.45 0.60 group. Conclusion In conclusion, presence a chronic respiratory child may associated disturbed increased mothers.
