Fabrication of hydroxyapatite/chitosan porous materials for Pb(II) removal from aqueous solution

摘要: Lead is one of the common heavy metal contaminants that pose a significant threat to human health. Herein, freeze-drying method has been used fabricate hydroxyapatite/chitosan (HAP/CS) porous materials for removal Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions. The HAP/CS possessed interconnected three-dimensional macropores with pore sizes 100–300 μm. Low-crystallinity HAP particles were dispersed uniformly among materials. Adsorption experiments conducted under flow conditions. adsorption capacity material was found be 264.42 mg g−1, while CS only 5.67 g−1. better property than attributed presence in composite material. During process, converted rod-like lead hydroxyapatite (PbHAP, Pb10(PO4)6(OH)2) via dissolution–precipitation reaction. kinetic studies revealed on exhibited good fit pseudo-second-order model. Therefore, possess great potential
