摘要: While quality of life (QOL)is the result satisfying human needs, our current provision strategies in global environmental degradation. To ensure sustainable QOL, we need to understand impact needs satisfaction. In this paper deconstruct and apply fundamental framework developed by Max-Neef et al calculate carbon energy foot prints subsistence, protection, creation, freedom, leisure, identity, understanding participation. We find that half emissions are driven subsistence protection. A similar amount due identity, creation leisure together, whereas participation jointly account for less than 4% emissions. We use 35 objective subjective indicators evaluate satisfaction their associated footprints across nations. relationship between QOL is more complex previously identified through aggregated or single indicators. Satisfying such as protection, identity leisureis generally not correlated with corresponding footprints. contrast, likelihood understanding, creation, increases steeply when moving from low moderate emissions, then stagnates. Most show a threshold trend respect footprints, but most no relationship, except free domand creation. Our study signals importance considering both assess QOL-impact relationships at level. way, resources could be strategically invested where they strongly relate social outcomes, spared non-consumption satisfiers effective. Through approach, decoupling damage becomes attainable.
