摘要: Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium recognized as the major cause of chronic gastritis and peptic ulcers. Infection by H. induces inflammatory responses pathological changes in gastric microenvironment. The host Keywords: immune cells (especially neutrophils) release mediators large 5-methoxy-3,4-dehydroxanthomegnin amounts reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are associated with an increased pyloririsk developing cancer. In this study, we evaluated anti-H. oxidative burst antioxidantactivitiesofa1,4-naphthoquinone-5-methoxy-3,4-dehydroxanthomegnin. Paepalanthus latipes antimicrobial activity was assessed using spectrophotometric microdilution technique, antioxidant noting effect 5-methoxy3,4-dehydroxanthomegnin on neutrophil luminol-and lucigenin-amplified chemiluminescence. results showed that 5-methoxy-3,4dehydroxanthomegnin potent compound (MIC 64 µg/mL MBC 128 µg/mL) strong antioxidant. 5-Methoxy-3,4-dehydroxanthomegnin decreased luminol- chemiluminescence, ED50 values 1.58±0.09 5.4±0.15 µg/mL, respectively, reflecting inhibitory burst. These indicate promising for prevention treatment diseases caused infection, such gastritis, ulceration, cancer, because intermediates involved pathogenesis mucosal injury induced infections.
