摘要: Summary. A number of tumor suppressor and tumorrelated genes exhibit promoter hypermethylation with resulting gene silencing in human cancers. In addition, several promoters have also been shown to become hypermethylated non-neoplastic cells during aging. To assess the physiological consequence clinical significance methylation gastric epithelia, our laboratory has studied status tumor-related genes, including APC, DAP-kinase, DCC, E-cadherin, GSTP1, hMLH1, p16, PTEN, RASSF1A, RUNX3 TSLC1, neoplastic epithelia. The except were generally unmethylated epithelia obtained from younger individuals. frequencies increased age varying degrees various although GSTP1 PTEN was completely absent both each found be comparable which mostly cancer-specific (P<0.01). When compared between cancer-bearing non-cancerbearing stomachs, hMLH1 p16 more frequent those stomachs Promoter initially occurs increases age, ultimately silences function constitute a field-defect that may predispose tissues cancer evolution. applications TSLC1 utilized as molecular diagnostic markers, predictors malignancy stomach.
