摘要: The galls of Quercus infectoria are commonly used in Malay traditional medicine to treat wound infections after childbirth. In India, they employed traditionally as dental applications such that treatment toothache and gingivitis. aim the present study was evaluate antibacterial activity Olivier against oral bacteria which known cause caries periodontitis. Methanol acetone extracts were screened two Gram-positive (Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 Streptococcus salivarius 13419) Gram-negative (Porphyromonas gingivalis 33277 Fusobacterium nucleatum 25586). screening test performed using agar-well diffusion method. Subsequently, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) determined by twofold serial microdilution method at a ranging between 0.01 mg/mL 5 mg/mL. Minimum bactericidal (MBC) obtained subculturing microtiter wells showed no changes colour indicator incubation. Both inhibition zones did not differ significantly () each tested bacteria. Among all bacteria, S. most susceptible. MIC ranges for methanol same, 0.16 0.63 mg/mL. MBC value, extracts, 0.31–1.25 mg/mL 0.31–2.50 mg/mL, respectively. Q. exhibited similar pathogens. Thus, may be considered effective phytotherapeutic agents prevention
