The status of diabetes control and antidiabetic drug therapy in Japan—A cross-sectional survey of 17,000 patients with diabetes mellitus (JDDM 1)

摘要: The number of diabetic patients has been increasing in Japan and consequently complications are the most important target to be prevented through improving glycemic control. In order describe control status treatment by specialists over three years, from 2000 2002, we examined HbA1c, other laboratory data modality drug therapy study population, 8170 2000, 11,831 2001, 16,934 2002. Patients were registered at clinics hospitals that members Diabetes Clinical Data Management Study Group (JDDM). HbA1c levels, data, details collected analyzed using SPSS MS Access. mean levels essentially unchanged during periods, ranging 7.9% 7.8%, 7.1% 7.0%, type 1 2 patients, respectively. diabetes, frequency oral hypoglycemic agents (OHA) use increased 44.9% 51.4%, while diet-only decreased 29.9% 25.4% period. Although systolic blood pressure was slightly above target, lipid profile mostly within goals set Society. This first report a large scale daily management diabetes revealed average level superior results reported countries.
