摘要: OBJECTIVE This study tested a simple algorithm for beginning insulin obese patients with type 2 diabetes after sulfonylurea failure, comparing suppertime 70/30 plus continued glimepiride alone. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS was multicenter ambulatory randomized double-masked parallel comparison. There were 208 subjects secondary failure to sulfonylureas who took titrated 8 mg b.i.d. weeks; 145 fasting plasma glucose (FPG) 180–300 mg/dl (10–16.7 mmol/1) on this treatment placebo (PI) or (GI) 24 weeks. A dosage of before supper titrated, seeking capillary blood (FBG) 120 (6.7 mmol/1), equivalent FPG 140 (7.8 mmol/1). Outcome measures included FPG, HbA 1c , dosage, weight, serum and lipids, adverse events. RESULTS at baseline: 261 vs. 250 (14.5 13.9 9.9 9.7%. At weeks, the target achieved in both groups (136 138 mg/dl, 7.6 values equal (7.7 7.6%). However, GI, control improved faster fewer dropped out (3 15%, P CONCLUSIONS Injection safely restored glycemic not controlled by Control more rapidly less injected when continued.
