摘要: The concept of response surface method (RSM) is used to generate approximate polynomial functions for ultimate bearing capacity and settlement a shallow foundation resting on cohesive frictional soil range expected variation input parameters. models are developed using available conventional equations numerical analysis. Considering the variations in parameters, reliability analysis performed these obtain an acceptable value allowable pressure. results compared with Monte Carlo simulation it demonstrated that application probabilistic can considerably reduce computational efforts memory requirements. It also concluded when conjunction enable rational choice pressure help decision-making process.
