摘要: Abstract Observations on three sympatric species of hermit crab revealed that in the majority exchanges gastropod shells, both individuals gained shell fit. This was true for intra- and interspecific exchanges. Predictions outcome interactions based upon a ‘mutual gain’ model were correct more frequently than predictions from an ‘aggression’ model. In this system, mutually limiting resource may result benefits to crab.
